中華民國開國紀念幣是1911年12月29 日經辛亥革命后，光復的17省代表在南京推選孫中山為中華民國臨時大總統。民國成立時鼓鑄的紀念幣，為紀念國父孫中山豐功偉績，中央所鑄貨幣均用國父像，南京、天津諸造幣廠于民國16年、17年重新大量鑄造中華民國孫像開國紀念幣。

此組錢幣正面圈內圖案鐫兩面交叉的國旗，左為鐵血十八星旗，右為五色旗，中間系結帶，旗幟飄揚，雙旗上方有五角星裝飾。圈外上環楷體“中華民國”字樣，下環“開國紀念幣”五字，左右兩側長枝花飾之。
