Cloth coins, also known as spade cloth, evolved from bronze farm implements, and were the spade-shaped copper coins circulating in the Central Plains during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.Money evolved from agricultural tools formed three major systems during the Warring States Period: cloth money, knife money and ring money. At first glance, "cloth money" seems to be made of cloth, but in fact it is also a metal currency. In ancient times, there was a kind of farm tool called toe. The shape of cloth coins was very similar to toe. Because of the homonym of "toe" and "cloth", people called this kind of coin which was very similar to toe "toe".
The original cloth, retaining its shape as a tool, with a handle of the primitive and thick, so called empty cloth; later gradually reduced, thinned, smaller, the body of the coin completely into a sheet, known as flat cloth. Plain head cloth is usually cast with place names or chronological characters.
This coin was well preserved in Warring States period, with clear font texture, exquisite copper coin casting technology and mellow and natural coating. It has certain historical significance and collection value.
After thousands of years of experience and accumulation, the spring and autumn and Warring States cloth coins did not bury it for a long time. Instead, they were gilded with a layer of gold, not only giving it a high value of historical research, but also giving it a considerable market price. In today's ancient coin market, the Warring States coin has attracted more and more attention because of its long historical research value and significance. The majority of ancient coin investors have focused on the Warring States coin. Since the Warring States period has a long history, there are few coins in the Warring States period that can be preserved up to now, and "rare things are precious", which directly leads to the extremely high price of coins in the field of ancient coins investment in the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period.
