布幣，因形狀似鏟，又稱鏟布，從青銅農具镈演變而來，是中國春秋戰國時期流通于中原諸國的鏟狀銅幣。從農業工具演化而來的貨幣，到了戰國時就形成三大體系：布幣、刀幣、環幣錢。 “布幣”乍一聽去，好象是由布料制作而成的，但其實它也是一種金屬貨幣。古代有一種農具叫做鎛，布幣的形狀就很象鎛，由于“鎛”、“布”同音，所以人們就把這種很象鎛的錢幣叫做“布幣”了。
