“中華民國二十五年拾分鎳幣”，是民國二十九年〔公元1940年〕國民政府追加孫中山為國父，并先后于41年、42年鑄造此幣種，以此紀念。雖然是小幣值的藏品，但在如今的收藏市場上其價值不可小覷。民國二十四年（1935年）國民政府廢止銀本位制，頒布法幣令逐步禁止白銀流通并將白銀收歸國有。于民國二十四年開始發行新的貨幣用新版鎳幣替代銀元、銀豪（當時鎳是比較貴重的金屬）。孫像古布鎳幣幣制統一、種類齊全、在民國機制流通幣中算最精美的一種了。鎳當時是比較貴重的一種金屬，發行孫像古布鎳幣就是用于替換當時的銀元、銀豪（貨幣比值同銀幣是一樣的，同等兌換一定數量的銅幣或其它貨幣，當時民國的百姓也是把它當銀幣使用）。孫像古布鎳幣在民國錢幣中也是成套體系最完整的。
