From ancient times to present, people have the traditional custom of saving coins. It is understood that coin collection is generally divided into three categories: paper money, commemorative coins and ancient coins, and silver has always been a hot spot in ancient coins. Because silver material is precious and artistic value is high. At the same time, the production of silver coins is much less than that of ancient coins and Republic of China banknotes, and due to the frequent wars in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China and other factors, some more precious silver coins are rare in the world.
Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies in circulation during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Hubei Province and Guangdong Province, was the first to introduce British coinage machines to cast silver and copper coins. Later, all provinces followed suit. A total of 19 provincial bureaus cast copper coins, except for the central household department and the local provinces, with their names inscribed on the upper edge of their front faces.
The front is bounded by a bead ring, which can be divided into two parts, inside and outside. The coin bead ring has four characters of "Guangxu Yuanbao", the upper ring has four characters of "Made in Yunnan Province", the lower ring has six parts of "Kuping San Qian", and the left and right ends are decorated with six star flowers, which are small and lovely, with dignified and handsome fonts and round and full strokes. On the back of the coin is a picture of a coiled dragon with bright eyes. Long Lin is finely carved, walking in clouds and driving in mist, and has a powerful figure. The dragon's claws are conspicuous and SHEN WOO is powerful. The dragon's presence in the sun shows the majesty of the royal air. The decorative pattern is like a knife carving. The casting process is extremely exquisite. The dragon body has exquisite lines and is set off by the sea of clouds. It looks like an oil painting of a dragon soaring in the sky. It is extremely magnificent and breathtaking.

Guangxu Yuanbao is a high-quality coin in modern China. It is edified by history and is a revolutionary cultural relic with high value and profound historical significance. At the same time, it is also a rare material object for archaeology and study of Chinese history and culture. Precious Guangxu silver ingot coins record the earth-shattering history of the Qing Dynasty. After a hundred years of wind and rain, the amount of coins in existence is extremely rare, especially those with thick paste. Therefore, they are very popular with collectors.
