如果有大型的國際會議在我國舉辦，參會的國家領導人在離別之時，都會收到中國精心準備的特色紀念品作為國禮，這些紀念品之中幾乎都有掐絲琺瑯工藝品的身影。掐絲琺瑯又稱作“景泰藍”，因為興盛于明朝景泰年間，而且琺瑯釉又是以藍色為主調，所以便有了“景泰藍”的雅稱。

掐絲琺瑯，中國傳統工藝品，屬于琺瑯器品種之一，一般特指銅胎掐絲琺瑯。掐絲琺瑯，其制作一般在金、銅胎上以金絲或銅絲掐出圖案，填上各種顏色的琺瑯之后經焙燒、研磨、鍍金等多道工序而成。掐絲琺瑯有著五彩斑斕、華麗奪目的魅力，掐絲琺瑯的制作大致可以分為7個步驟：制胎，即以紅銅板制出器形；掐絲，即將壓扁的銅絲依設計飾紋粘牢于胎體；燒焊，將其再次焊接牢實；點藍，依飾紋中顏色依次上釉彩，先點地，次點花，再點藍，后加亮白；燒藍，點一次藍即燒一次，重復多者可達3次；磨光，以細砂石、黃石及木炭分別逐次打磨光滑藍料與銅絲的粗糙處；鍍金，即拋光除銹的最后一道工序。可以說，掐絲琺瑯的制作工藝既運用了青銅工藝，又利用了瓷器工藝，同時又大量引進了傳統繪畫和雕刻技藝，堪稱中國傳統工藝的集大成者。

It can be said that the production process of filigree enamel not only uses the bronze technology, but also uses the porcelain technology. At the same time, it introduces a lot of traditional painting and carving skills, which can be called the master of Chinese traditional technology.
一直以來，掐絲琺瑯因為用料昂貴、工藝繁瑣，而成為僅供皇家把玩的工藝品。無論是在明朝還是在清朝，都曾經在宮廷之中設置專門制作掐絲琺瑯的琺瑯作，統治者刻意阻止琺瑯彩的工藝外傳，從而使得掐絲琺瑯工藝品成為皇家專享，一直到了清朝末年，才有匠師為生計走出皇宮，將掐絲琺瑯的制作技藝帶入民間。所以我們如今看到的絕大部分清朝掐絲琺瑯文物都曾是宮廷之中的珍寶。

Until the end of Qing Dynasty, some craftsmen came out of the palace to make a living and brought the production technology of filigree enamel into the folk. So most of the filigree enamel relics we see in the Qing Dynasty were once treasures in the palace.
