瓷業發展至乾隆一朝，可謂集古之大成、 達歷史之頂峰，既承襲前朝瓷釉品種又精益求精，在著名督陶官唐英的帶領下，作品的燒造大膽創新仿古求變，無不以陶為之，于是，仿燒青銅古銅釉，也成為此一時期引人注目的產物。

青花瓷是指用鈷料在瓷胎上繪畫，然后罩上透明釉，在高溫下用還原或半還原焰一次燒成，呈現出藍色花紋的一種釉下彩瓷。青花瓷器創燒于唐代，經過緩慢的發展，到了元代，成為景德鎮瓷器生產的主流。產品遠銷大江南北和世界各地，成為最具中華民族審美特色的瓷器品種。景德鎮元代青花瓷器使用的鈷料，有進口料和國產料兩種。進口料繪畫的青花色澤濃艷，釉面有黑色斑點。國內所產鈷料色澤略顯淡雅，沒有黑色斑點。景德鎮元代青花瓷器往往在同一件器皿上使用兩種青料，在繪紋飾輪廓線時用國產料，而敷染青彩時使用進口料。元代青花瓷器圖案布局工整富有層次，滿壁是畫，空白較少，其紋飾可分為主紋與輔紋兩類。主紋多繪于瓶、罐的腹壁和碗、盤的內底，繪在其他部位的則為輔紋。常見的主紋有植物紋、動物紋、歷史故事等紋飾。植物紋以松樹、竹子、各種花卉和芭蕉、靈芝、山茶、海棠、葡萄為常見。動物紋主要有龍、鳳、鶴、鹿、鴛鴦、鴨、麒麟、獅子、魚、海馬等。歷史故事畫以周亞夫細柳營、蕭何月下追韓信、蒙恬將軍和三顧茅廬等最精彩。其他內容主要有竹石圖和雜寶圖等。輔紋主要有錦地回紋、錢紋、水波紋、蕉葉紋、蓮瓣紋、云頭紋和纏枝紋等。
Blue and white porcelain refers to a kind of underglaze colored porcelain which is painted on the porcelain body with cobalt material, then covered with transparent glaze, and fired in a reduction or semi reduction flame at high temperature, showing blue patterns. Blue and white porcelain was made in Tang Dynasty. After a slow development, it became the mainstream of Jingdezhen porcelain production in Yuan Dynasty. The products are exported to the north and south of the Yangtze River and all over the world, and become the most aesthetic porcelain of the Chinese nation. There are two kinds of cobalt materials used in Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain in Jingdezhen: imported materials and domestic materials. The blue and white color of the imported material painting is rich, and the glaze has black spots. Domestic cobalt material color slightly elegant, no black spots. Jingdezhen Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain often used two kinds of blue materials on the same utensil, domestic materials were used when drawing the outline of the pattern, and imported materials were used when applying the blue color. The pattern layout of blue and white porcelain in Yuan Dynasty is neat and full of layers. The walls are full of paintings and there is less blank. The pattern can be divided into two types: main pattern and auxiliary pattern. The main pattern is mostly painted on the belly wall of bottles and cans, the inner bottom of bowls and plates, and the auxiliary pattern is painted on other parts. The common main patterns are plant patterns, animal patterns, historical stories and other patterns. Pine, bamboo, various flowers and banana, Ganoderma lucidum, camellia, Begonia and grape are common plant lines. Animal patterns mainly include dragon, Phoenix, crane, deer, mandarin duck, duck, unicorn, lion, fish, seahorse, etc. The most wonderful historical story paintings are Zhou Yafu's xiliuying, Xiao He's chasing Hanxin, general Mengtian and Sangumaolu. Other contents mainly include bamboo and stone map and miscellaneous treasure map. The auxiliary patterns are mainly brocade ground, money, water wave, banana leaf, lotus petal, cloud head and twig.
