1924年段祺瑞中華民國執(zhí)政紀念幣金幣，極為少見，完全未使用。袁世凱死后，在日本帝國主義支持下，把持北洋軍閥政府。第一次世界大戰(zhàn)后，向日本大量借款、購買軍火，編練“參戰(zhàn)軍”。1920年被直系軍閥曹錕、吳佩孚擊潰下野。1924年直系政權傾覆，被馮玉祥等人推舉為北京臨時執(zhí)政。為紀念段祺瑞出任中華民國臨時執(zhí)政之職，天津造幣廠同期鑄造了少量段祺瑞像銀模金質(zhì)樣幣。
