“應圣元寶”是五代十國期間燕王劉守光在應天元年（911年）鑄造的錢幣，由于為試鑄幣所以存量稀少。中國古錢“五十名珍”之一。

唐朝滅亡后出現了歷史上的“五代十國”階段。五代初期，劉仁恭之子劉守光于后梁乾化元年自號“大燕皇帝”，改元“應天”。燕王劉守光在應天元年（911年）鑄造了“應圣元寶背拾”“乾圣元寶背百”‘順天元寶背千’“應天元寶”，北燕是一個很小的政權，存在僅三年（911年—913年）。“應圣元寶”為試鑄幣，其存世量非常稀少，華光譜所著《中國古錢大集》將此錢幣定為一級，無定價。

此枚“應圣元寶”首識書相。清晰可見，其面文“應圣元寶”四字，背穿上“拾”字明顯。書體似行似楷，旋讀。其書寫筆劃自然流暢，古拙率真感十足。其中，‘‘元”字行書，特征鮮明;“寶”字亦然，其寶蓋頭乃“點橫”式， 而非真正的“寶蓋頭”，此二者，也是應圣錢的重要書意特征之一，無需細表，品文識書，本品書相正是應圣元寶入譜載之典型，其門可開。
