大清銅幣,學(xué)名清代機(jī)制銅圓,鑄造始于1900年(清光緒二十六年),止于1911年(宣統(tǒng)三年)。鑄造流通時(shí)間盡管只有十余年,但其鼎盛時(shí)期全國(guó)共有十七省二十局開機(jī)鑄造銅圓。十七二十局先后鑄造的當(dāng)十銅圓,各不相同,版式繁多。僅以明顯區(qū)別劃分,其版式亦有數(shù)百種之多。如以細(xì)微區(qū)別劃分,其版式在千種以上。因此當(dāng)代銅圓收藏愛好者每每以搜尋不同版式的銅圓為最大樂事。清代機(jī)制銅圓版式繁多,尤以當(dāng)十者為最。清代末期開機(jī)鑄造銅圓的十七省二十局,無(wú)一不鑄造當(dāng)十銅圓,而二文、五文、二十文銅圓則僅有部分省局鑄造。故本文所列銅圓收藏方法,僅就當(dāng)十銅圓而言。

光緒二十六年(1900),李鴻章奏準(zhǔn)在廣東開鑄銅元。清銅元主要分為兩大類,在先的一類幣面書“光緒元寶”,在后的一類幣面書“大清銅幣”。除廣東外,先后開鑄的廠局還有福建、湖北、四川、清江等20余局。四川是銅元鑄造大省,光緒二十九年(1903)至民國(guó)六年(1917)十二月,成都和重慶兩個(gè)官方廠所鑄銅元數(shù)量位居全國(guó)之冠。
