1911年10月，辛亥革命爆發(fā)，12月，四川省也宣告獨(dú)立，成立了“大漢四川軍政府”。 并接管了設(shè)在成都的四川造幣分廠。為滿足軍需和保路運(yùn)動(dòng)的需要，廢除了前清龍模銀幣，新創(chuàng)四川銀幣模型，于1912年起，由四川造幣廠正式開(kāi)鑄四川軍政府“漢”字銀元。于是，成都造幣分廠。為擴(kuò)充軍需，鑄造發(fā)行了這種“漢”字銀幣。
