清文宗咸豐年間（1851-1861年）所鑄平錢。因政治腐敗，經濟危困，鑄行未久即收到各種重寶、元寶大錢沖擊，通寶錢遂嚴重貶值，故制作簡陋，形制混雜；全國27局所鑄的小平錢，銅質、大小及文字各不相同，粗略者多而精良者罕見。其中大樣錢鮮見，而更多為私鑄劣質薄小錢，期間鵝眼錢重不足1g。背文滿文各寶局名，常見者大約20局左右，尤以“寶臺”局“阿克蘇”局“寶通”局所鑄為稀少。傳世尚有“咸豐通寶”雕母數種，極為珍貴。咸豐錢的品類很繁雜，僅中國歷史博物館珍藏達917種。當時的鑄局有：泉、源、直、薊、福、陜、昌、河、德、晉、云、東、武、桂、浙、濟、臺、蘇、鞏、川、黔、南、廣、伊犁、迪化、葉爾羌、庫車、阿克蘇等。傳世以雕母、大樣、小平錢、寶福局計值、計重錢少見，新疆寶迪局“當八十”為珍。
