光緒末年，云南省獲準在昆明寶云局舊址設廠，以德國進口機器，四川招用技工，戶部造幣總廠發模，于光緒三十三年（1907年）建成云南銀元局，后更名云南造幣分廠，鑄行“光緒元寶”，有新舊兩類，多種版別。
藏品正面鑄有銘文，頂部鑄楷體“云南省造”四字，底部鑄貨幣價值：“庫平一錢四分四厘”，中心直讀“光緒元寶”四字，幣中心為滿文“光緒元寶”，外圈兩側各有一朵四瓣花紋裝飾，錢幣設計精緻美觀，鑄字非常清晰，錢幣背面中央鐫蟠龍圖，紋路如刀刻所成，龍身紋路精美，龍鱗細膩、龍爪張揚、威武霸氣、栩栩如生，左右兩端飾有六點星花。

In the last year of Guangxu, Yunnan Province was approved to set up a factory at the old site of Baoyun Bureau in Kunming. It imported machines from Germany, recruited technicians from Sichuan, and issued molds for the head minting factory of the household. In 1907, Yunnan silver yuan Bureau was established. Later, it changed its name to Yunnan branch minting factory and cast "Guangxu Yuanbao". There are two types of "Guangxu Yuanbao", old and new.
There are inscriptions on the front of the collection, four characters of "made in Yunnan Province" in regular script on the top, and currency value at the bottom: "Kuping one dollar four quarters of four Li", four characters of "Guangxu Yuanbao" read directly in the center. The center of the coin is the Manchu "Guangxu Yuanbao", and two sides of the outer ring are decorated with four petal patterns. The design of the coin is exquisite and beautiful, and the characters are very clear. The back of the coin is engraved with a picture of a dragon in the center, and the pattern is like that of a knife Cheng, the dragon tattoo is exquisite, the Dragon scales are delicate, the Dragon claws are bold, powerful and lifelike, and the left and right ends are decorated with six star flowers.
