近期征集到一件罕見的明代觀世音坐像，通高37.8cm，重：11.35kg 。
公元1506年，明朝第十位皇帝明武宗朱厚照明朝使用“正德”這個年號一共16年。正德十六年四月明世宗即位沿用。
此藏品為明.(正德)年間工部督造慈航普度觀音像。
用料內含暹邏國（現泰國）朝貢的風磨銅，風磨銅的主要成分是紅銅和黃金,其顏色呈紫紅色,含金量越高顏色越淡。
鑄造工藝為“失蠟法”。失蠟法也叫“熔模法”，是一種青銅等金屬器物的精密鑄造方法。它的特點是能夠鑄造出更加復雜的器物，其造型和裝飾更加精巧繁復。是以蠟作為模型，在模型的內空間填以泥土，外空間用繩和泥將其包裹，待干后自然成為范，然后灌入金屬液，由于蠟受熱溶化流出，遺留下來的空隙就被銅液填充為器型。失蠟法可以制作精致、復雜、多層次的型體。
觀音頭戴高花冠，盤坐在蓮花座上，左手執凈瓶，右手作法印相，面目清秀，神態安寧，雙目下視，似以無限悲憫的神情關注著人間。衣紋流暢，生動曲折，腿部裝飾略呈橢圓形裙褶，是典型明代造像的手法。靜觀此件觀音像，不禁讓人覺得觀世音不再是高居神壇的神，而是可親近、可交流的一位心靈使者，是美的化身，善的代表。此件藏品因久歷人間煙火，日月侵蝕，表層有灰黑色皮殼和色漿，距今已500年有余，保存至今，實屬不易，具有極大的收藏和經濟價值。
觀世音菩薩，是佛教中慈悲和智慧的象征。觀音的變化多端，使得她能及時“普救眾生”。以觀世音菩薩為主導的大慈悲精神，被視為大乘佛教的根本。

Recently, a rare sitting statue of GuanShiYin in Ming Dynasty was collected, with a height of 37.8cm and a weight of 11.35kg.
In 1506 ad, Zhu houzhao, the 10th emperor of Ming Dynasty, used the term "Zhengde" for 16 years. In April of the 16th year of Zhengde, mingshizong ascended the throne.
This collection is the statue of Kuan Yin, which was built by the Ministry of works during the Ming (Zhengde) period.
The material contains the wind mill copper from the tribute of Siam (now Thailand). The main components of the wind mill copper are red copper and gold. Its color is purplish red. The higher the gold content, the lighter the color.
The casting process is "wax loss method". Lost wax method, also known as "investment casting method", is a kind of precision casting method for bronze and other metal objects. GuanShiYin is the old translation of kumarashi, Xuanzang's new translation is Guanyi, which is called Guanyin in China. GuanShiYin Bodhisattva is the symbol of compassion and wisdom in Buddhism. No matter in Mahayana Buddhism or in folk belief, the great compassion spirit dominated by GuanShiYin Bodhisattva plays an extremely important role.
