光緒元寶是大清光緒年流通大面值貨幣之首，是我國首批引進海外技術的印發流通貨幣，對于現今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。北洋造光緒元寶北洋龍洋在中國近代機器鑄幣史上屬一個大系列，其鑄期歷時甚長（從光緒22年—光緒34年[1896至1908年]），歷經十余載，幣模幾經更替，即使同一鑄造年份亦往往由于修模、幣材、工藝技術、工廠管理等諸多因素，造成版別異常繁雜。

廣東省造光緒元寶雙龍壽字銀幣一枚，系廣東銀元局鑄造，該幣正面珠圈外上端鐫刻“廣東省造”四字，下端鐫刻楷書“庫平重壹兩”五字，左右兩側各鐫有一蝙蝠圖案，珠圈內鑄有“光緒元寶”四字。銀幣背面珠圈外鑄雙龍戲珠圖案，珠圈內鑄一圓形“壽”字。銀幣設計極富特色，正面兩側所鑄的一對蝙蝠圖案寓意吉祥。因蝙蝠的“蝠”字與“福”字諧音，在幣面上鑄蝙蝠圖案意在取“蝠”、“福”兩字諧音，與背面的“壽”字相對應，寓意“福壽雙全”。拍品以鏡面版底精鑄，工藝精湛，五彩原光，原色原味，品相幾近完美，具有重要的機制幣收藏與貨幣史料價值，彌足珍貴。
