將軍罐，是因其體形碩大、造型飽滿、氣魄雄偉酷似一位頭頂纓盔的將軍而得名。從元代由短頸大腹的無蓋大罐到明代的荷葉蓋罐逐漸演變形成，從存世的實物來考證，真正成熟的將軍罐是從明代嘉靖、萬歷時期開始，到了清代康熙年間官窯、民窯大量燒造。清代中后期更是備受推崇。將軍罐也由實用器皿逐漸發展為用來陳設裝飾、供奉避邪的藝術品。
青花將軍罐高25厘米，直口、豐肩圓胸，腹部漸收，器型飽滿，整體就像兩位戴盔披甲壯年的將軍，器型穩重挺拔，威猛剛健。青花圖案自上而下共分七層，蓋子頂是藍色的圍棋鈕，往下用青花繪出2朵枝條纖細修長、花朵豐滿的纏枝花，在蓋子的折沿上用潑墨留白的手法繪出半隱半現的梅花，花朵分內外兩圈。罐子的頸部是連續的如意紋，肩部用青花繪制的如意頭花邊披肩。作者在罐子的胸部與腹部巧妙地運用寫意的線描手法繪滿了濃淡相間的纏枝花，委婉流暢的曲線將花朵與葉子表現得婀娜輕巧。腰部以下是變形的回紋。這種莊嚴威武的造型與浪漫娟秀紋飾巧妙的配合，逐漸成為了大眾非常喜愛的風格，這也是從清代乾隆開始一直到清末青花瓷上較為流行的典型紋飾。
