此枚中華民國三年袁大頭蘇維埃版，正面為袁世凱五分側面像，右側刻著“蘇維埃”，上列“中華民國三年”六字。背面兩條嘉禾，左右交互，下系結帶，中鑄‘壹圓’二字。藏品雖然經歷了無窮歲月的洗禮，但是如今保存依然較為完好。其色澤光鮮自然，紋飾深淺適度，邊緣線條粗細均勻，間距也疏密一致。人像、發絲、胡須、穗芒等細微之處清晰有度，生動自然。

民國三年袁大頭蘇維埃簽字版來源于1931年，國民黨政權對蘇區進行軍事圍剿和經濟封鎖，紅色政權環境十分惡劣。為適應斗爭形勢的需要，紅軍便利用打土豪獲得的民國三年(1914)版“袁大頭”銀元，在袁世凱頭像右側打上“蘇維埃”的戳記，以示區別，投入流通。這種“蘇維埃袁大頭”在發展革命根據地經濟、保障紅軍供給和紅色政權建設方面發揮了重要作用，見證了中華蘇維埃共和國那段崢嶸歲月。
