“軍政府造四川銅幣”是辛亥革命時(shí)期的產(chǎn)物。1911年12月發(fā)生“成都叛亂”,以尹昌衡、羅綸為正副都督的四川軍政府取代了建設(shè)僅12天的大漢四川軍政府。新的四川軍政府建設(shè)之初即面臨著需用日繁、度支日絀的財(cái)政困窘時(shí)勢(shì)。軍政府迅速接受了四川成都造幣廠,決議鑄造“四川銅幣”以應(yīng)急。民國(guó)元年（1912年）4月,四川成都造幣廠奉四川軍政府之命,開(kāi)模鑄造“軍政府造四川銅幣”（也稱“漢”字銅元）。

此枚錢幣正面圖案中央是一個(gè)很大的篆書漢字,代表了新政府大漢的意思,突出了驅(qū)除韃奴的主題,漢字周圍有18個(gè)小圓圈,象征著當(dāng)年響應(yīng)辛亥革命的十八個(gè)省,兩側(cè)有四瓣花星,上方有中華民國(guó)三年六字。背面圖案中央是一朵芙蓉花,象征蓉城成都,花的四周環(huán)有四川銅幣四字,上方是軍政府造四字,下方是面值二十文,珠圈兩側(cè)有四瓣花星。“漢字圓圈外還環(huán)繞有18個(gè)小圓圈，代表當(dāng)時(shí)的十八個(gè)省。把18個(gè)小圓圈圍繞著“漢字聯(lián)成一體，寓意十八省人民團(tuán)結(jié)起來(lái)共同為“驅(qū)逐韃虜，恢復(fù)中華而戰(zhàn)斗。它帶有辛亥革命那一時(shí)期鮮明的時(shí)代印記，見(jiàn)證了那一段波瀾壯闊的革命歷史。
