越州窯：也稱“越窯”。越州窯（越窯）的窯址在浙江省的紹興、上虞、慈溪、余姚一帶，春秋時期此地是越國的政治、經濟中心。秦統一天下后屬于會稽郡，唐朝時屬越州，故稱為越州窯，簡稱越窯，唐代越窯瓷器的胎質細膩,釉層均勻,渾厚滋潤，種增多，有“如冰似玉”之譽。主要器物有碗、盤、壺、罌、瓶、罐、耳杯、盞托、粉盒、水盂、唾壺等10余種，越窯青瓷的外文譯名有一個美麗的名字叫“雪蘭冬”。18世紀中國的越窯青瓷傳到了法國，法國上流社會被這種精妙絕倫的、如一泓清澈碧綠湖水釉色的瓷器所折服。當時巴黎劇場正上演《牧羊女》，法國人就用“雪蘭冬”的名字來稱呼越窯青瓷，表明法國人民對越窯青瓷這一藝術品的喜愛。古越地不僅是我國青瓷的發源地，也是我國瓷器的誕生地。越窯燒造瓷器歷史悠久，早在東漢時期，勤勞智慧的越州人燒出了成熟瓷器，歷經六朝、隋唐和五代時期的蓬勃發展，至宋從未間斷，越窯青瓷在中國陶瓷史上占有重要的地位。越窯青瓷是中國古代瓷器中的珍品，在中國陶瓷發展史上具有極為崇高的地位。

雞首壺，雞首壺因壺嘴作雞首狀而得名，因此又名雞頭壺、天雞壺，晉代時稱罌，是兩晉時期青瓷的代表作之一。最早的雞首壺的雞頭和雞尾純為裝飾之用，故多為閉口尖嘴和短尾，后來雞首壺成了盛酒器，所以雞頭作流，嘴成圓筒狀，同時整個器型也由寫實演變為夸張的變形。西晉時器形較小，圓腹，肩部貼一雞首，小而無頸。壺嘴有的可通，有的是實心，壺肩部有系，小平底。東晉時，其主體也是圓腹盤口壺，但雞首下有短頸，喙由尖變圓，冠加高，雞尾消失，柄的上端高于口沿，肩帶橋形方系。至南朝時，壺身整體加高，雞頸較前期加長，盤口加深，柄也加高，肩部系多為雙系。雞首壺流行的魏晉南北朝時期正是社會大動蕩的時期，也是瓷器大發展的時期。由于連年戰亂，大批中原居民和士族地主紛紛南下，推動了南方經濟的發展。南方制瓷工藝逐步提高，北方瓷系出現，從此我國制瓷業形成南北兩大系統，互相促進，互相影響。在南方，以瓷器制造為主的手工業進入迅速發展的階段，尤其是奠基于東漢的青瓷燒造開始了它的輝煌時期。
