“多穆”原意為盛酥油的桶。藏語稱為董莫(mdong-mo)或多穆。口沿加僧帽狀邊，又添把和嘴，遂成為壺。多穆壺為藏人拌、盛酥油茶的器皿，酥油茶藏語稱恰穌瑪，是將由茶磚熬成的濃茶中，倒入少量的酥油和鹽，有的還加入一些味精和牛奶等佐料，攪拌至水和酥油交融而成，是藏族同胞生活的必需品。洪武瓷器的紋飾，依然保留著元代簡練流暢，豪放生動(dòng)的風(fēng)格，只是略顯秀氣。紋飾較單調(diào)，以植物花卉為主，有纏枝菊、纏枝牡丹、纏枝蓮、折枝花卉等；此時(shí)以龍鳳紋裝飾的器物很少見，目前只見龍紋不見鳳紋。元代瓷器上盛行的極為生動(dòng)的人物故事題材，以及麒麟、魚、草蟲等動(dòng)物紋樣，在洪武瓷器上卻都已消失，這或許與當(dāng)時(shí)朝廷禁令有關(guān)。多穆壺為元代首創(chuàng)，此壺乃其中代表作之一。頂與底部以釉里紅留白浮雕分別飾龍紋。腹部以青花留白飾云紋。整器保存完整，極為珍貴。
