青花葫蘆瓶，又稱青花釉里紅鳳紋瓶，是在青花間用釉里紅加繪紋飾的一種瓷器裝飾手法。青花和釉里紅都是中國陶瓷傳統釉下彩裝飾。兩者制作工序大體相同,不同在于青花瓷以鈷料著彩,釉里紅瓷則用銅紅料著彩。青花釉里紅兼有青花瓷的明凈素雅，釉里紅的深沉濃艷。因此，青花釉里紅自誕生之日起，歷經數百年，精品迭出，一直是深受人們喜愛的名貴品種。
花瓷起源于唐代，釉里紅瓷起源于元代，而把此兩者組合在同一件瓷器上，成為一個新的陶瓷品種，這是元代景德鎮陶瓷藝人的一項創造性成就。元代以后，明清兩代均有燒制。由于銅紅的呈色極不穩定，在燒制中對窯室的氣氛又十分敏感，稍有變異便不能達到預期的效果，有時一窯甚至幾窯才能燒出一件通體鮮紅的產品，所以要得到比較純正的紅釉器十分不易。高溫銅紅釉的燒制工藝，雖然早在元代就已出現，但明代宣德以后逐漸失傳，終明—代再沒有得到恢復。清代康熙朝恢復了失傳200多年的高溫銅紅釉的生產，因此，有清一朝釉里紅瓷燒造的相當成功，不論小器還是大器，均造型古樸，胎體堅致，釉色濃淡分明，具有鮮明的時代特色。
葫蘆，在我國的種植歷史源遠流長，自古以來便承載起人們希望吉祥如意、福祿雙全的美好心愿。葫蘆之形狀似“吉”字，故而常被寓以“吉祥”之意;葫蘆讀音似“福祿”，所以亦常用于祈福;其腹內結子繁盛，象征多子;此外，葫蘆藤蔓綿延，“蔓”與“
