光緒元寶廣東省造庫平重一兩，背面雙龍壽字，廣東壽字壹兩銀幣，鑄于光緒二十一年（1895）初，為紀(jì)念慈禧六十壽辰而鑄。由于正值戶部推行一兩本位制銀幣，所以這枚壽字紀(jì)念銀幣亦用“庫平重壹兩”的本位制紀(jì)重。壽字壹兩紀(jì)念銀幣制造非常精致。光緒元寶為清代貨幣，光緒年間鑄行金、銀幣較多。當(dāng)時(shí)正值洋務(wù)運(yùn)動(dòng)時(shí)期，這股思潮也影響到了鑄幣業(yè)，兩廣總督張之洞曾于光緒十三年委托使英大臣在英國訂購 全套造幣機(jī)器，其后，各省紛紛仿效，購制國外機(jī)械鑄造銀，這也使得使銀幣沾染上西方色彩。此光緒元寶為雙龍壽字幣，數(shù)量已經(jīng)極其稀有。銀元，作為曾經(jīng)的主要流通貨幣，反映了當(dāng)時(shí)的政治、金融與文化背景、歷史價(jià)值不菲。再者買賣銀元屬于實(shí)物投資，交易比較靈活，具有收藏價(jià)值投資風(fēng)險(xiǎn)小、增值穩(wěn)定等特點(diǎn)，加上銀元系稀有貴重金屬，所鑄制作數(shù)量比銅幣、鐵幣、紙幣等少得多。存世數(shù)量有限，自然會(huì)越來越受追捧。
