"Stationmaster" silver dollar is one of the foreign currencies which was cast by England and widely circulated in China in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. "Stationmen" silver dollar began to circulate in Guangdong and Guangxi after entering China. Because of its exquisite production and high silver content, it was deeply loved by businessmen and people. When the British government saw that the "standing man" silver dollar was profitable in China, it made a large number of coins and imported them. Before long, "stationmaster" silver dollar was used in most parts of China, especially in Beijing and Tianjin. At that time, in China's circulation of foreign currency, "stationmaster" silver dollar had accounted for a considerable proportion, which made China's silver flow into the UK continuously, causing serious damage to economic and trade interests. As a historical carrier, "standing man" silver dollar recorded the humiliating history of Chinese people's political oppression and economic exploitation after the Opium War. Studying the foreign currency circulating in China is of great significance for us to understand the crime of foreign powers using silver dollar trade, plundering China's wealth, enhancing patriotism and contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

In 1866, in order to expel Yingyang, the United Kingdom issued a set of Hong Kong silver coins at the Hong Kong mint. The obverse of one dollar was the image of Queen Victoria, with the words "Victoria Queen" in the upper and lower English, the reverse of which had the Chinese character of longevity, and the English character "Hong Kong dollar Hong Kong" beside it, the next was the year. As the quality of Hong Kong silver dollar is lower than that of Yingyang, it needs to be used at a discount and is difficult to be widely promoted. In 1868, the Hong Kong Mint closed down and the equipment was resold in Japan. Hong Kong silver coins are only 2 million yuan. The coin is commonly known as "Xiangyang".
