歷史上但凡宮中過節，裝飾更為奢華。在清代，宮中會懸掛大量紅燈籠，而這些燈籠為增加重量，減少晃動，通常會加掛燈墜子。既然是皇宮，其燈墜子自然比民間要奢侈，這種奢侈之一表現在燈墜使用的是一枚枚官錢局專為皇宮鑄制的錢幣，即慶典專用宮錢。而清代之慶典宮錢，又多為當朝年號錢錢文背加鑄天下太平四字。即天下太平錢，這成為清代宮錢最典型而常用的錢文形式。其面文“嘉慶通寶”四字，背“天下太平”四字，楷書書體，直讀。可感其文字書寫中規中矩，筆劃清晰纖細，字形大小適中，布局協調。不難看出，其面文書相，正是那嘉慶年號錢之典型風格。故無需細表，品文識書，本品官爐鑄品之書相，開門到代。一眼可見，本品乃傳世銹相，通體雖無銹痂點染裹縛，然其包漿凸顯凝重，深淺相間，分布十分自然，漿相則是純真老熟，踏實不虛，皮殼亦是老道可鑒。察其材質，鮮明黃銅質
