軍務院撫軍長唐庫平三錢六分是云南省為紀念反袁擁護共和勝利而制造發行的。1915年12月，蔡鍔與云南都督唐繼堯及李烈鈞、方聲濤等反對袁世凱稱帝，擁護共和政體，組織護國軍討伐袁世凱。1916年3月22日，袁世凱在內外交困中宣布取消帝制，護國運動取得勝利。為了紀念護國運動，云南省鑄造發行了有護國元勛唐繼堯頭像圖案的紀念幣。唐軍長是幣界的俗稱，實際是唐繼堯紀念銀幣，云南省造，正面為唐繼堯正像或側像，上銘“軍務院撫軍長唐”，正像幣下有嘉禾，側像幣則無。因從左至右讀為唐軍長比較順口，于是這個稱謂一直流傳下來。背面正中為交叉的雙旗（五色旗和十八星旗），上銘“擁護共和紀念”，下面是三錢六分記重面值（即5角）。其包漿入骨，熟舊自然，深打字口清楚，流通痕跡明顯，邊齒過關，具有極高的投資價值和收藏價值。它有著歷史熏陶，是價值很高的革命文物，具有深遠的歷史紀念意義；同時還是考古和研究中國歷史文化難得的實物。該錢幣存世量少，市場稀缺，為稀有幣種，近年來收藏錢幣市場火熱，所以此錢幣具有極高的收藏和投資價值！

唐繼堯（1883年—1927年），又名榮昌，字蓂賡，云南會澤人。滇軍創始人與領導者，云南滇系軍閥的主要領導者。唐繼堯參加過重九起義，昆明起義。在鎮壓二次革命時，攻打四川熊克武率領軍隊。在護國戰爭中，與蔡鍔聯合宣布云南獨立，自任中華民國護國軍總司令，護國戰爭結束后，任云南督軍兼省長。護法運動中被推為護法軍總裁之一，并任滇川黔鄂豫陜湘閩八省靖國聯軍總司令。1913年開始在云南執政，為云南的近代化事業有很大的促進作用。執政后期從下屬到民間怨氣甚大。1927年失去云南政權，同年5月23日病死于昆明，終年四十四歲。
