雷公墨，是我國古人對玻璃隕石的稱呼。因其常于雷雨天中被雨水從巖層中沖刷脫落出來，以致古人誤以為是雷電造成的，是傳說中的雷公畫符遺留的墨塊。在暴雨傾瀉后的海南島，往往會發現地里有一種杏子大小，長約十幾厘米，樣子奇特的、黑色玻璃質石塊。由于它總是在雷雨之后出現，因此被稱為“雷公墨”。在進入大氣層后熔融，墜地后又快速冷凝，顏色有黑、墨綠、棕褐等，“玻璃隕石”極為珍貴，價格一路上漲，成為如今在古玩收藏市場里，最昂貴的石頭，鉆石也難以媲美，玻璃隕石可以保持數以十億年計基本保持不變。
此玻璃隕石重：約367g，整體呈現墨黑色，圓狀，內凹，與茶餅的形狀極其相似，品相達到了極致的完美，非常難得。表層有大小不等的圓形氣泡，有的如月球表面的環形山狀圖案，熔殼在陽光下閃耀著耀眼光芒，灼燒痕跡明顯，氣印密集漂亮，是隕石降落過程融化的液質冷卻后產物，被稱為天外奇物，具有很高的科研、觀賞和收藏價值。
Lei Gongmo is the ancient Chinese name for glass meteorite.
