開元通寶
開元通寶是唐代第一種貨幣,也是發(fā)行量最大,沿用時(shí)間最長的貨幣。由于其質(zhì)量合理,通貨控制得當(dāng),錢幣做工比較精美,故深受百姓喜愛。許多人都認(rèn)為開元通寶是年號(hào)錢,理由是唐玄宗李隆基有個(gè)年號(hào)是開元,這是錯(cuò)誤的。開元通寶是非年號(hào)錢,在唐代初年就已經(jīng)鑄造,是由歐陽詢親自題字,歐陽詢是初唐人物,而李隆基生于盛唐,二人生活年代相差百余年,從年代上講,歐陽詢就不可能給李隆基的鑄錢題字。而李隆基將年號(hào)定為開元,純屬巧合。

《舊唐書·食貨志上》記載:"武德四年七月,廢五銖錢,行開元通寶錢。開元錢之文,為給事中歐陽詢制詞及書,文字莊重、雋秀、挺拔,時(shí)稱其工。其字在篆隸之間,其詞先上后下,次右左讀之(即直讀,讀作開元通寶)。自上及右回環(huán)讀之(即旋讀,讀作開通元寶),其義亦通,流俗謂之開通元寶錢。"
