清高宗乾隆皇帝于公元1735年即位，在位的60年里施展其“文治武功”的治國策略，創造了封建社會里最后一個輝煌盛世，之后民間便盛傳佩帶“乾隆通寶”銅錢可驅災辟邪，又因乾隆二字諧音“錢隆”而備受后世藏家所喜愛。
乾隆通寶”當時發行時間較長，鑄量極大且加之流傳至今時間較短，所以多數價值低廉。但乾隆的雕母和母錢因流傳數量極少，現在以是收藏家們青睞的對象，具有很高的收藏價值。
道光通寶鑄于清宣宗道光年間(1821-1850年)。錢徑一般2.2-2.4厘米，重2.5-3.6克。錢文“道光通寶”四字以楷書直讀，錢背是記有寶局二十名的滿文。道光通寶形制特點基本與嘉慶錢相同，所不同者只是新疆際克蘇、庫車因缺少黃銅而開始鑄折五當十升值平錢，這是清代虛值大錢的濫觴。
道光通寶楷書折二背寶泉局，宣宗道光年間鑄。形制同嘉慶錢，面文楷書，直讀；背滿文記局名：泉源直蘇南昌武川浙福晉陜廣桂云東黔，伊犁，阿克蘇，庫車，寶新。道光錢制作粗糙，大小不一，輕重懸殊，一般徑2.2--2.4厘米，重2.5--3.6克，清廷由于入不敷出，新疆阿克蘇，庫車，寶新三局始鑄虛值析五，當十錢，亦是清錢虛值錢之始。傳世幾無稀罕之品。錢幣收藏價值比較高。
