熨斗最早出現(xiàn)于商代,當(dāng)時是被當(dāng)做一種刑具使用的,專門用來燙炙囚犯的皮膚。到了秦末漢初,其功能才定型于熨燙衣服并一直流傳至今。直到晉代以后,熨斗的功能逐漸向生活工具轉(zhuǎn)化,漢魏時期的熨斗,用青銅鑄成,外形呈圓腹、寬口沿,有長柄。
