Fossils are the remains or remains of creatures living in the distant past. In the long geological age, there have been countless creatures living on the earth. Many of the remains of these animals or the traces left when they lived were buried by the sediment at that time. In the following years, the organic matter in the remains of these organisms has been completely decomposed, and the hard parts such as shells, bones, branches and leaves, together with the surrounding sediments, have been fossilized into stones, but their original shape, structure (even some minor internal structures) are still preserved; similarly, the traces left by the living creatures can also be preserved in this way. We call these fossilized remains and remains fossils. From the fossils, we can see the appearance of the ancient animals and plants, thus we can infer the living conditions and living environment of the ancient animals and plants, infer the age of the formation of the buried fossils and the changes of their experiences, and we can see the changes of the organisms from the ancient to the present and so on.
Tree fossil, also known as silicified wood. The formation time of the changzishuhua stone is Triassic, which is about 200 million years ago. It can be concluded that this area was once a dense primeval forest, or because of orogeny, the earth's crust was dislocated, resulting in subsidence and subsidence of faults, and trees were piled up and buried; or in orogeny, rock avalanche, debris flow, surge, ebb, and trees were buried by sandstone; or in volcanic eruption, a large number of hot gases were produced, covering the earth with volcanic ash deposits, and trees were buried. Wood covered burial; or in the impact of meteorite rain flow, the earth's surface deformation, part of the forest buried. After the trees died in the above-mentioned geological changes, geological movements and geological disasters, they were closed in the depth of the stratum. After the long-term erosion of low temperature, high pressure, anoxia and hydrothermal oxides, the wood fibers gradually disappeared after the silicification and opal alternation, and the organic matter of the trees was gradually replaced by silicon elements, forming a siliceous "stone tree", namely tree fossil. The treelified stone is hard, mostly light gray, brown, maroon and light brown yellow. Its texture is meticulous and meticulous, and the wood grain, branches and tree knots of the section are clear and distinguishable. Generally, tree fossils have traces of natural fracture of tree trunks, some of which are exposed to the surface in a obviously weathered state, and arc-shaped tree layers are denuded and peeled off layer by layer.
Tree fossils are widely distributed in China. They have been found in Xinjiang, Liaoning, Shandong, Yunnan, Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Fujian, Sichuan, Gansu and many other provinces. In 1984, "tree fossil group" was discovered on the North Bank of Baihe River, Yanqing County, Beijing. Most of these tree fossils are short stumps, rings and wood grain are clearly visible, and they are distributed on the hillside with a width of 400m and a length of 1500m. Among them, the largest stump has a diameter of 2.5m, and the smallest one has a diameter of 0.8m. At a glance, it looks like a virgin forest that has just been cut. Later, 32 tree fossils were found in the south of Changzi County, Shanxi Province, either lying on the hillside or lying on the back of a bush, the longest 18 meters, the thickest 1.5 meters, with different posture
There is a good prospect for the development of the fossil of changzishu. Combined with the declaration of the National Geopark, we have stepped into the mysterious palace of tree fossils from three aspects: unique tree characteristics, ancient geological science, traditional and modern aesthetic vision. Approaching the age of dinosaurs, touching the spirit of petrifaction, appreciating the strange trees of hundreds of millions of years, deciphering the ancient mysteries of the Mesozoic era, finding out the legend of the old and the wild, and the track of the earth's historical evolution. Especially in the world-famous coal sea in Shanxi, after a large number of trees have evolved into coal, why are the trees here becoming an island? It will be the best choice without regret to see the treasures of the world and the wonders of the world created in the smelting of "earth fire" so as to enjoy the elegance.
