此藏品為大清臺灣軍餉一兩銀幣，此銀幣乃清政府在大陸官辦錢局鑄造之后，按照計劃撥付給臺灣軍隊的軍餉。臺灣是中國的南大門，據考證，清朝在臺灣有駐軍4萬余人，據說當年清政府撥付給臺灣的軍餉每年達數百萬兩。
