陜西省造光緒元寶七錢二分因屬試鑄樣幣,設計精美,鑄工精良,為中國銀幣二十珍之一。光緒二十四年,陜西巡撫魏光奏請在西安設置錢局自行數鑄銀元,并委托英國伯明翰希頓造幣廠代制鑄幣鋼模,該廠在把鋼模移交中國之前,試了“陜西省造光緒元寶”樣幣 10套,其中6 套交陜西省。此幣只留有試鑄樣幣,正面點圈內鐫漢文和滿文“光緒元寶”字樣,上銷“陜西省造”四字,下“庫平一兩” 四字,兩旁鐫花飾。背面蠟龍居中,外圈為英文,并鐫有 和“2”同拉伯數字,兩旁銷小花飾。陜西省造“光緒元寶”銀幣沒有正式生產投入使用。樣幣鑄造時間存在898年和 1899 年兩說。盡管陜西省造“光緒元寶”銀幣的身世撲迷離,但這并不影響它在中國機制銀幣中大珍品的地位,反而成為研究者和收藏家競相追逐的目標
Shaanxi Province made Guangxu Yuanbao Qiqian dichotomous coin, which is one of the 20 Chinese silver coins, is a sample coin with exquisite design and excellent workmanship. In 898 (the 24th year of Guangxu's reign), Wei guangzo, governor of Shaanxi Province, asked to set up a money Bureau in Xi'an to cast silver coins by himself, and entrusted the British Birmingham Heaton mint to make the steel mold for coins. Before the steel mold was handed over to China, the factory tried 10 sets of "made Guangxu Yuanbao in Shaanxi Province", of which 6 sets were handed over to Shaanxi Province. There are only specimen coins left in this coin, with Chinese and Manchu characters "Guangxu Yuanbao" engraved in the front dot circle, four characters of "made in Shaanxi Province" on the top, one or two characters of "Kuping" on the bottom, and flower decorations engraved on both sides. The back wax dragon is in the middle, the outer ring is in English, and engraved with the same number as "2" and laber, and the two sides are decorated with small flowers. The silver coin "Guangxu Yuanbao" made in Shaanxi Province was not formally produced and put into use. The date of the sample coins is 898 and 1899. Although the life experience of making "Guangxu Yuanbao" silver coins in Shaanxi Province is confusing, it does not affect its status as a big treasure in China's mechanism silver coins, but it becomes the target that researchers and collectors are competing for.
