中國是世界上最后一個結束銀本位幣制度的國家，世界上其他國家早已經退出貨幣流通領域的機制銀幣都隨著舊中國國際貿易的開展而大量匯聚到清代和民國時期的舊中國流通。由于中國人民銀行的長期大規模收兌銀元的行動使得民間老銀元的實際存量越來越少，而隨著時間的推移最終成為稀有的文物收藏品的。在我國發行的近千種老銀幣中，有一種圖案非常別致、中央有一個很大的篆書“漢”字，這就是精美的“四川軍政府大漢銀幣”。

該款硬幣乃中華民國元年軍政府造四川銀幣壹圓(大字點金版)，中華民國元年(1912年)四川省軍政府成都造幣廠鑄，民國成立后廢除龍模，由四川軍政府自創模型。銀幣直徑39毫米，重量約25.4克，正面中央珠圈內鐫“四川銀幣”四個字，四個字中間鐫一朵精美的芙蓉花，象征蓉城成都珠圈外上端鐫“軍政府造”四個字，下端鐫幣值“壹圓”，左右兩側各鐫一個四瓣花星，銀幣背面中央圓圈內鐫一個篆文“漢”字，代表了新政府“大漢”的意思，具有反清意義。有橫向底紋裝飾，旁圍十八個小圓圈組成的圓圈，內鐫縱向飾紋，象征著當年響應辛亥革命的十八個省。圈外上端鐫“中華民國元年”六個字，其銀字的金旁系連書四畫，本品為大字點金版，是軍政府造四川銀幣中最稀貴的版別。此項模型即為四川銀元定型，一直未變。”隨著國家政策及時代的變遷，其存世量逐漸減少，現更其難覓。
