In the early stage of modern China's silver circle system, the disunity of the main currency made it possible for the semi open Silver Circle to become the main currency in the circulation of Modern Yunnan. The fundamental reason is that it is more suitable for the relatively backward social and economic level of Yunnan, so it is very rare for self-made silver yuan and half opened silver yuan in the circulation market in Yunnan. Now the collection market has high collection value and investment value.
The half opened Silver Circle in Yunnan, that is, the half round silver circle in the silver coinage approved by the Qing government, is used for one silver circle for each two coins, which was initially transported into China from Hubei Province. By November 1907, Yunnan minting branch (now qianju street, Kunming City) approved by the Qing government was completed and put into operation, and Yunnan began to cast silver coins by its own machine. The silver circle of Yunnan Mint mainly consists of half round silver circle. As late as 1914, when the Beijing government issued the regulations on national currency, there was a clear stipulation that the one yuan silver yuan, which was cast in the late Qing Dynasty, should be taken as the base national currency. The unit was set as one yuan, and the remaining several silver yuan were set as shop currency.
