越窯是中國古代最為著名的青瓷窯系，其釉色類玉、類冰，造型精美，器物眾多。越窯的發展歷史，可以追溯到商周時期的原始瓷生產，東漢時，越窯燒造出成熟的青瓷，嗣后，經歷了三國、兩晉、南北朝的大發展時期，隋、唐、五代的全盛期，至北宋中期漸趨衰落。
東漢越窯東漢是越窯青瓷的初創時期，青瓷的燒制成功是浙江地區原始瓷的工藝發展和技術積累的必然結果。這一時期的青瓷產品在成型、燒制工藝上與原始瓷一脈相承，處處彰顯著古拙與樸實。
三國時期的越窯產品，胎質堅致細密，胎骨多為淡灰色，釉層均勻，釉汁潔凈，早期紋飾簡樸，紋樣有水波紋、弦紋、葉脈紋。晚期裝飾趨向繁復，出現斜方格紋，還出現了堆塑方法，器物可分為日用品和明器。非常具有收藏價值。
