袁大頭，辛亥革命以后，袁世凱就任“臨時”之職發行的錢幣，袁世凱為了提高自己的統治地位，把自己的頭像鑄于幣面，“袁大頭”由此而來。1914年2月7日，袁世凱令形式公布了《國幣條例》及《國幣條例施行細則》，規定國幣種類有銀幣4種（壹圓、中圓、貳角、壹角）、鎳幣一種（五分）、銅幣五種（二分、一分、五厘、二厘、一厘）。因袁大頭壹圓銀幣幣型劃一，成色、重量有嚴格規定，很快受到了社會認同和接受，在國內金融市場上逐步取代了清朝的龍洋，成為流通領域的主幣。袁大頭民國三年簽字版是原天津造幣廠試鑄樣幣。該幣最顯著特征就是幣的正面袁世凱頭像的右側有英文“L.GIORGI”或簡寫“L.G”字樣，是雕刻師“魯爾治.喬治”的簽名縮寫俗稱簽字大頭。
民國三年袁大頭像簽字銀圓的英文字體經查證： 民國三年袁大頭像簽字銀圓“壹元”和“中圓”銀幣的英文字體都是大寫體——“L·GIORGI”。在周衛武編著的《世界錢幣收藏與鑒別》中，民國三年袁大頭像簽字銀圓是彩色版，這是一枚真幣的彩色圖樣，字體明顯，其簽字英文字體為大寫體——“L·GIORG”。余繼明編的《中國銀幣圖鑒》中也是英文大寫體。簽字版特征：整幣精鑄，頭發似波浪，線條粗卷，立體感強；肩星凸起，肩章十條線清晰精刻；胸前襟章和綬帶立體清晰；背面嘉禾飽滿，顯著特征是“每”字接近閉口。 袁大頭像銀幣包括四種：壹圓、中圓(五角)、貳角、壹角，民國三年、八年、九年、十年均有鑄造。其中，民國三年、九年、十年的壹圓較為常見，民國八年的則較少。民國三年的“袁大頭”中，袁世凱“簽字版”尤為珍貴，包括天津造幣廠試鑄的意大利制版人的英文簽字版，以及袁世凱的左側面像后頸部位的簽字版。由于簽字版未曾正式流通使用，所以存世不多，擁有此枚錢幣的人必然有著極大的市場前景和升值空間。
Yuan Datou. After the 1911 Revolution, Yuan Shikai took the post of "temporary" issuing coins. In order to improve his dominance, Yuan Shikai cast his head on the surface of the coin, from which "Yuan Datou" came. On February 7, 1914, Yuan Shikai promulgated the Regulations on National Currency and the Rules for the Implementation of the Regulations on National Currency, stipulating that there are four kinds of national currency (one yuan, one yuan, one dime, one dime), one kind of nickel (five cents), and five kinds of copper coins (two cents, one cent, five cents, two cents and one cents). Because Yuan Datou's silver coin is uniform in shape, with strict regulations on its fineness and weight, it was quickly recognized and accepted by the society. It gradually replaced Longyang of the Qing Dynasty in the domestic financial market and became the main currency in the circulation field. The three-year Signature Edition of Yuan Datou Republic is a prototype coin produced by the former Tianjin Mint. The most prominent feature of the coin is that on the right side of the front of Yuan Shikai's head is the English word "L. GIORGI" or the abbreviation "L. G". It is the abbreviation of the engraver "Ruerzhi George", commonly known as the signature head.

GIORGI". In Zhou Weiwu's Collection and Identification of World Coins, the signature Silver Circle of Yuan's big head in the three years of the Republic of China is a color version. Signature plate features: whole coin precision casting, wavy hair, rough lines, strong stereo sense; shoulder star protruding, shoulder chapter ten lines clear and precise; front breast and ribbon three-dimensional clear; back Jiahe full, the prominent feature is that the word "every" close. There are four kinds of silver coins: one yuan, one yuan (five corners), one jiao and one jiao. They were cast in three, eight, nine and ten years of the Republic of China. Among them, one circle in three, nine and ten years of the Republic of China is more common, but less in eight years of the Republic of China. Yuan Shikai's "signature edition" is particularly valuable in the three years of "Yuan Datou" in the Republic of China, including the English Signature Edition of the Italian plate maker trial-produced by Tianjin Mint and the signature edition of Yuan Shikai's left side image on the back neck. Since the signature version has not been formally circulated and used, it has not survived much. People who own this coin will inevitably have great market prospects and appreciation space.
