Western Xia coins, from discovery to recognition, have gone through more than 700 years. Among the Monographs on coins, Quanzhi, edited by Hong Zun of the Southern Song Dynasty, was the earliest one to record the coins of the Western Xia Dynasty. The eleventh volume records a piece of Xixia coin coined by the Xixia government. Hong said, "The right Sanskrit coin is eight cents in diameter, weighing three baht and six ginseng. Its copper color is pure, and its writing is indisputable. It's almost the same as that of the house and the vomiting of money." It can be seen from the article that although Hong Zun found the money in Xixia, he did not know it, so he did not include it in the coinage of Xixia Dynasty, but faithfully listed it as the coin minted by unknown minorities and included it in the book Quanzhi. The Sanskrit money recorded in Quanzhi is the Xixia money cast in the Xixia Dynasty. Quanzhi is the first book to discover and record the coinage of Xixia Dynasty. During more than 300 years of Yuan and Ming dynasties, there was little progress in the study of coinage. Among the coinage works handed down, Hu's Qiantong and Li Shixiong's Qianshen. These two writings either follow Hong Zun's Spring Records or are very brief in description. They do not involve Xixia coins. The Xixia Dynasty had existed for nearly two centuries in history. The currency circulating in the society was mainly the money left over from the Northern Song Dynasty and the previous dynasties. As the symbol of the regime and the actual needs of the society, the Xixia Dynasty also minted the money of the dynasty, but the number was small. According to the published data and statistics of Xixia coins unearthed in the past 200 years, the total number of Xixia coins has been found to be about 200,000, of which nearly 20,000 are copper coins and 180,000 are iron coins. There are 15 categories and more than 100 large editions. These coins, in addition to iron coins unearthed when the rust was serious and did not cause much attention to the loss, part of the collection by national and local museums, cultural museums, and a considerable number of coin collectors and coin enthusiasts in the collection. 報錯
