光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。
光緒元寶是大清光緒年流通大面值貨幣之首，是我國首批引進海外技術的印發流通貨幣，對于現今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。光緒元寶中，龍在中國傳統文化中是權勢、高貴、尊榮的象征。在收藏品中，關于龍的藏品最為豐富，極具升值空間。所以逢龍必藏，逢龍必漲已成為收藏界的定律，特別是以龍的形象為標志的瓷器、銀幣等藏品多年來只漲不跌，而雙龍壽字幣更是其中的佼佼者，價值極高。
