天寶石別名寶石之王，因隕落地為新疆哈密市伊吾縣，故又稱伊吾伊丁。天寶石硬度略低于鉆石，莫氏硬度高達(dá)8～9，是極其罕見(jiàn)的寶石級(jí)隕石。天寶石內(nèi)部呈斑晶結(jié)構(gòu)，一般為紅色斑晶、深紅色斑晶與金屬斑晶的結(jié)合體，斑晶尺度大小不一，其色彩斑斕、美輪美奐，遍體的龍紋或黃或白，纏繞在鮮紅色、深紅色、金屬色斑晶周圍，異常美麗。形態(tài)較好的原石，氣印、熔流線、熔蝕坑等隕石特征明顯，展現(xiàn)出隕石獨(dú)有的高融之美，擁有濃厚的中華民族氣息，被業(yè)界譽(yù)為"國(guó)隕"，自發(fā)現(xiàn)以來(lái)，迅速紅遍全國(guó)走向世界。
