光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一，由兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。光緒元寶是大清光緒年流通大面值貨幣之首，是我國首批引進海外技術的印發流通貨幣，對于現今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。

吉林省造辛丑光緒元寶庫平一兩銀元是年為干支紀年的辛丑年，當時主要是在東三省流通，以后逐步在全國各地廣泛流通。銀幣正面中央珠圈內鐫漢字“光緒元寶”，四字中央鐫太極圖。珠圈外上端鐫“吉林省造”四個漢字，下端鐫幣值“庫平一兩”，干支紀年“辛丑”兩個字分鐫左右兩側。錢幣背面中央鐫蟠龍圖，外圍上端鐫英文省名“吉林省” ，下端鐫英文幣值“庫平一兩”，左右兩側分鐫滿文和一個十字花星。
