公元1100年1月，北宋皇帝哲宗病故，由其弟趙佶接替做了北宋第八任皇帝，為宋徽宗。徽宗“性甚機巧，優(yōu)于技藝”，終日沉迷于書法繪畫，不理朝綱。他在位25年，先后鑄造了圣宋通寶、崇寧通寶（重寶）、大觀通寶、政和通寶（重寶）、重和通寶、宣和通寶（元寶）等6種錢幣，其中崇寧通寶和大觀通寶的錢文是徽宗御筆親書的瘦金體。令人叫絕的是折十型瘦金書體的崇寧通寶，青銅精制，文字骨秀格清，令人愛不釋手。

崇寧重寶，北宋徽宗崇寧年間鑄（公元1102年~1106年），幣質(zhì)有銅、鐵、銀。崇寧重寶為隸書銅、鐵大錢，制作多亦精好，另有崇寧重寶錢文為徽宗御書瘦金體，鐵劃銀鉤，深具骨秀格清之氣韻，書法超妙絕倫，堪稱幣文楷書之顛峰，惹得眾多古錢幣收藏者愛不忍釋。整個錢體厚重，青銅質(zhì)，銹色古舊，書法清秀骨瘦，鐵劃銀鉤，俊逸勁挺，與被公認的各譜均載的大字“崇寧重寶”完全符合。字體結(jié)構(gòu)疏朗，筆劃犀利，骨秀格清，極具欣賞收藏意義。
