吳冠中（1919年-2010年6月25日），江蘇宜興人，當代著名畫家，油畫家，美術教育家。1942年畢業于國立杭州藝術專科學校，曾任教于國立重慶大學建筑系；1946年考取教育部公費留學，1947年到巴黎國立高級美術學校，1950年秋回國，先后任教于中央美術學院、清華大學、北京藝術學院、中央工藝美術學院。2010年6月25日23時57分，吳冠中先生因病醫治無效，在北京醫院逝世，享年91歲。
Wu Guanzhong (1919-June 25, 2010), a famous contemporary painter, oil painter and art educator in Yixing, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from the National Hangzhou Art College in 1942 and taught in the Department of Architecture, National Chongqing University. In 1946, he was admitted to the Ministry of Education for study at public expense. In 1947, he went to the National High School of Fine Arts in Paris and returned to China in the autumn of 1950. He has successively taught in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, Beijing Academy of Art and the Central Academy of Arts and Cra At 23:57 on June 25, 2010, Mr. Wu Guanzhong died of illness at the age of 91 in Beijing Hospital.

此幅畫采用鋼筆與毛筆描繪云南石林，吳冠中將剛勁的鋼筆線條與柔和的水墨漸層并置，在單純的白描構圖中產生剛與柔的強烈對比。前景石頭塊面的暈染向下超出了輪廓線，并非是水墨渲染時的揮灑寫意，藝術家不僅巧妙地創造水面的倒影，同時也定義了留白的空間，畫面上方與下方的留白因此產生「天」與「地」的區隔，賦予天地的無止盡觀念而不斷的向外延展。運用散點透視表現主體石林，前景以俯視的角度刻畫出細節，遠景則以平視拉出景深與空間感，在視點的轉換中呈現出自由的空間感。
This painting uses pens and brushes to depict Yunnan Stone Forest. Wu Guanzhong juxtaposes the rigid pen lines with the gentle ink and wash gradually, creating a strong contrast between rigidity and softness in the simple composition of the white sketch. The halo of the foreground stone surface goes down beyond the contour line, not the freehand brushwork of ink rendering. The artist not only skillfully creates the reflection of the water surface, but also defines the blank space. The blank space above and below the picture produces the separation of "heaven" and "earth", which gives the endless concept of heaven and earth. Extension.
