Li Yuanhong, Song Qing, a native of Huangpi, Hubei Province, was appointed the 21st Commander of the New Army of Hubei in the late Qing Dynasty. After the Wuchang Uprising on October 10, 1911, Li Yuanhong was promoted from an old soldier who had nothing to do with the revolution to the position of governor of the military government of Hubei Province. When the Nanjing Provisional Government was founded, he was elected Vice President. In 1914, Yuan Shikai disbanded the Parliament and falsified the treaty law. He served as President of the Senate. After Yuan Shikai's death, he was succeeded by the Vice President, and was once forced to step down. In June 1916, Li Yuanhong succeeded President Yuan Shikai after his death, resumed the treaty and convened Congress. At that time, the Wuchang Mint coined silver coins commemorating the founding of the People's Republic of China like Li Yuanhong. There are two kinds of silver coins, one is Li Yuan Hongdai's military cap edition and the other is the crown-free edition. In 1922, he was supported by the warlords directly under his command and was reinstated as President. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Li Yuanhong went from an old soldier to serving as Vice President and President twice.

Among the old silver coins issued in modern China, there are only more than ten kinds of commemorative silver coins. Most of them were made by real power figures after the 1911 Revolution. Among them, Li Yuanhong's image of the founding of the People's Republic of China is very famous in commemorative silver coins of this kind. At that time, some people made some silver commemorative coins for Li Yuanhong in order to please him. But with his ups and downs, these commemorative coins sometimes appeared and sometimes were destroyed. It can be said that the commemorative coin of Li Yuanhong is different from that of Sun Yat-sen. The commemorative coin of Sun Yat-sen has never disappeared, and the commemorative coin of Li Yuanhong's founding has disappeared for a period of time at some point in history, and then reappeared. So it is still a bit difficult for some people to piece together the political trajectory of Li Yuanhong's time by means of commemorative coins. It is precisely because of the small stock, so the value will be high.
