龍泉青瓷的歷史可以上溯到魏晉南北朝時期，龍泉人利用當地優越的自然條件，制造出青瓷，開創中國陶瓷美學的新境界。從南北朝到唐五代以前這都屬于龍泉青瓷的早期發展時期，早期發展是緩慢的。因為當時的龍泉窯是以土窯為主的，燒成溫度和技術還有欠缺。到唐代以后，慢慢地受到甌窯、越窯、婺州窯的影響，特別是越窯的影響，初步形成規模，并追殲形成淡青的釉色，為兩宋龍泉青瓷的繁榮奠定了基礎。
The history of Longquan celadon can be traced back to the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. The Longquan people made celadon by taking advantage of the local superior natural conditions, and created a new realm of Chinese ceramic aesthetics. From the Southern and Southern Dynasties to the Tang and Five Dynasties, it belonged to the early development period of Longquan celadon, and the early development was slow. Because the Longquan kiln at that time was mainly earth kiln, the firing temperature and technology were still insufficient. After the Tang Dynasty, Ou kiln, Yue kiln and Wuzhou kiln slowly influenced, especially Yue kiln, initially formed a scale, and pursued the formation of light blue glaze color, which laid the foundation for the prosperity of Longquan celadon in the Song Dynasty.

Its products are well sold in many countries and regions in Asia, Africa and Europe, and have a far-reaching influence. Longquan kiln is famous for firing celadon. Its product style before the early Northern Song Dynasty was influenced by Yue kiln, Ou kiln and Wuzhou kiln. Its characteristics are similar to those of the three kilns. 宋代瓷業鼎盛，除汝窯、官窯、哥窯、鈞窯、定窯五大名窯外，山西省平陽的平陽窯、陜西省耀州的耀州窯，福建省建安的建窯，江西省吉州的吉州窯，也都燒制相當好的瓷器。南宋時期龍泉窯得到空前的發展，龍泉青瓷進入鼎盛時期。這時，曾在唐和五代盛極一時的越窯青瓷業已凋凌，唯有龍泉青瓷質量顯著提高，馳名中外的粉青，梅子青釉瓷器就是在南宋龍泉窯中燒制成功而把青瓷釉色之美推到頂峰。從窯址的瓷片來看產品有白胎(灰白)和黑胎厚釉兩大類。其中白胎青瓷約百分至九十幾，黑胎青瓷只是少量的，但質量很好，胎簿釉厚有紫口鐵足的特征，與南宋郊壇下官窯瓷器有許多相同之處，這應是南宋紹興元年至紹興十九年時及其后相當長的一段時間內南宋朝廷令地方州府為宮廷代燒的官窯瓷器。

From the porcelain pieces of kiln site, we can see that there are two kinds of products: white tire (gray) and black tire thick glaze. Among them, white-fetus celadon is about 90%, black-fetus celadon is only a small amount, but the quality is very good. The thickness of the placenta glaze has the characteristics of purple iron feet. It has many similarities with the pottery of the Guanyao kiln in the suburban altar of the Southern Song Dynasty. This should be from the first year of Shaoxing to the nineteenth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty and for a considerable period thereafter. Official kiln pottery fired by the court.
