民國開國紀念幣是一種銀質紀念幣，發行于1912至1927年。民國十六年北伐戰爭勝利，國民政府定都南京，南京造幣廠先取原模，重鑄孫中山開國紀念幣，后又改動幣背面的英文和花邊（六角星），鑄成新版，批量發行，俗稱“小頭”。此后四年孫中山開國紀念幣鑄量不下數十億，與“袁大頭”一起成為舊中國的主要流通貨幣。
