吳東民，字美教，號半坡，1956年9月生，海南萬寧市人。現為中國書協副主席，中國書協評審委員會副主任、中國書協培訓中心教授；海南省政協委員，海南省文聯副主席，海南省書法家協會主席，海南省書畫院院長，省優專家，中國文聯、中國書協“德藝雙馨”藝術家。

大學期間專修美術，書法自幼臨池不輟。書法作品入選第五、六、七屆國展，第五、六、七屆中青展，首屆書法蘭亭獎，第一、二、三屆楹聯展，首屆行草書展，首屆扇面書展；刻字作品入選每三、四、五屆全國刻字展，第二、三、四、五屆國際刻字藝術展；國畫作品入選全國首屆中國畫展，全國畫院雙年展。書畫作品多次參加全國性名家邀請展，另有20多件作品被中南海、毛主席紀念堂和各地博物館等文博機構收藏；多次應邀出訪美國、日本、韓國、新加坡以及港、澳、臺等國家和地區進行交流，參展。主編《詹礪群書法作品集》、《海南省書畫院首屆書畫作品集》等10多部作品集，出版《吳東民書法作品集》、《吳東民繪畫作品集》。
