Ding kiln is a treasure in Chinese traditional porcelain making technology. It is one of the six major kiln systems in Song Dynasty. It is a big porcelain kiln system after Xing kiln white porcelain in Tang Dynasty. The main producing areas are Jianchi Village, Nobei Village, Dongyanchuan Village and West Yanchuan Village in Quyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. Because this area was under the jurisdiction of Dingzhou in Tang and Song dynasties, it was named Dingyao.
Ding kiln for the people, the late Northern Song Dynasty began to burn palace porcelain. Chuang burned in the Tang Dynasty, extremely prosperous in the Northern Song Dynasty and Jin, finally Yuan, famous for producing white porcelain, and burning black glaze, sauce glaze and green glaze porcelain, the literature calls it "black Ding "," purple Ding "and" green Ding "respectively.
Due to the change of history, the application of new porcelain soil and the progress of porcelain making technology come from Xing kiln. Bian Xianghe believes that the greatest contribution of Dingyao is to shine in the history of the development of Chinese ceramics and leave a brilliant page in the history of Chinese ceramics and the history of ceramic development in the world.
The most important achievement of porcelain kiln installation and firing technology in Song Dynasty was the invention of overburning method and firelighting technique. Since the late Northern Song Dynasty, a large number of overfiring methods have been used in Dingyao, and a gasket combined mortar has also been used. The advantage of this firing method is that it can not only save fuel and prevent the deformation of utensils, but also reduce the cost, greatly increase the output, have a great impact on the north and south porcelain kilns, and play an important role in promoting the development of porcelain industry in China.
The kiln ware is loved by people because of its rich and colorful pattern decoration. Decorative techniques to white glaze printing, white glaze engraved flowers and white glaze flowers, as well as white glaze flowers and gold flowers, beautiful and elegant patterns. In the early Northern Song Dynasty, Dingyao engraved flowers, composition and patterns became simpler, mostly double lotus petals, decorated with the beauty of shallow relief. The engraved flowers in the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty were beautifully decorated and unique. Decorative patterns commonly used printing, rowing and stacking techniques, beautiful and elegant.
