它不僅代表著近代中國的貨幣文化，同時也反映了我國近代歷史、經濟、金融的興衰和滄桑。民國時期軍政府制造四川銅幣流通范圍較窄，發行量與存世量都很少，由于這個原因，導致接觸四川銅幣的人比較少，研究者更少。但這并不表示四川銅幣沒有收藏價值，在收藏行業一直遵循這一個規律就是"物以稀為貴"。
作為特殊歷史時期、地方政權的特殊貨幣，四川銅幣是歷史的產物，具有不可替代的文物價值，是歷史的見證，如同過去農民政權發行的貨幣。四川銅幣共三種面值，分別是十文、二十文和五十文，這枚銅幣一改大清錢幣之前的龍紋設計，正面文字為四川銅幣四字，中間飾有海棠花紋，上緣書"軍政府造"四字，下緣為當制錢若干文，標明了幣值。左右各飾一朵花星紋。背面上緣有中華民國元年六字。中央有一個圈，圈中書以一個篆文"漢"字。圈外環繞有十八個小圈，代表當時十八個省份，十八個圈圍繞"漢"字，寓意十八省人民團結起來共同戰斗。
