送子觀音
“送子觀音”俗稱“送子娘娘”，是抱著一個男孩的婦女形象。舊時中國人，尤其是婦女，崇拜佛教中的觀音，在很大程度上是因為相信觀音能夠送子。觀音在佛教中并不是最高神，但由于有了送子功能，其在中國的影響要比佛祖釋迦牟尼大得多。可以說，平常百姓幾乎沒有不知道觀音的，但知道釋迦牟尼的卻并不很多。觀音的寺廟遍布中國，觀音的塑像，無論是被當作工藝品，還是被當作尊神，也常見于普通人家。觀音是隨著佛教而進入中國的。觀音進入中國后，受到中國文化的巨大影響，發生了一連串的變化。
