圜錢也稱圜金、環(huán)錢，是一種中國古代銅幣。主要流通于戰(zhàn)國時(shí)期。圓形，中央有一個(gè)圓孔。錢上鑄有文字。一說由紡輪演變而來；一說由璧環(huán)演變而來。是方孔錢的前身。“圜錢”是中國戰(zhàn)國時(shí)期鑄行的一類圓形銅質(zhì)貨幣，又稱“圜化”，簡稱“環(huán)錢”，是我國先秦時(shí)期銅鑄幣四大系統(tǒng)之一，也主要是戰(zhàn)國的鑄幣形式。圜錢有兩大類：一是圓形圓孔，比較原始；二是圓形方孔（由圓形圓孔逐漸演變而成）。初期圜錢的穿孔比較狹小，以后逐漸變大。圜錢的正面鑄有銘文，反面則無任何文字。圜錢是由玉璧和古時(shí)的紡輪演化而來的。圜錢是沿用璧、環(huán)的專稱來稱其形體的。《爾雅·釋器》：“好倍肉謂之瑗，肉倍孔位之璧，肉好若一謂之環(huán)。”“好”是指璧、環(huán)居中的穿孔，“肉”是指穿孔至廓之間的實(shí)體。環(huán)錢的穿孔也稱好，自穿孔至廓之間的實(shí)體也稱“肉”，可見圜錢與玉璧之間的關(guān)系是有聯(lián)系的。

圜錢早年出于河南封丘一帶，濟(jì)水流經(jīng)此處，戰(zhàn)國時(shí)為鄭地，后屬魏。結(jié)合其出現(xiàn)地點(diǎn)，對(duì)于其錢文可解讀為“燕”字。“燕”為古地名，春秋時(shí)為姞姓南燕國所在，地望在今河南延津縣東北。其開國君主伯倏，相傳為黃帝后裔，是黃帝二十五子中得姓者之一。為區(qū)別北方姬姓之燕國，史稱其為南燕。秦時(shí)在此置縣，西漢改名為南燕，東漢復(fù)名為燕縣，西晉末更名為東燕。按《說文》解釋，燕字本為飛鳥之象形，在甲骨文中“燕”字變化較多，有張口與閉口，正頭與側(cè)頭，有羽與無羽等差別。由于甲骨文與金文中的“燕”字變化和差別較大，使得對(duì)此錢文的認(rèn)定有一定的困難。河南封丘一帶戰(zhàn)國時(shí)為鄭地，后屬魏，因此“燕環(huán)”圜錢應(yīng)為戰(zhàn)國時(shí)的魏鑄幣，其鑄期大約在魏惠王東遷大梁（今河南開封）以后，極有可能是魏國初行圜錢時(shí)的試鑄之品。

In oracle bone inscriptions, the word "swallow" has many changes, such as opening and closing, head and side, feathers and feathers.
