龍泉瓷器開創于三國兩晉時期，宋代達到鼎盛，結束于清代。生產瓷器的歷史長達1700多年，是中國制瓷歷史上最長的一個瓷窯系，影響十分深遠。龍泉窯以燒制青瓷而聞名，在北宋早期以前的產品風格受越窯、甌窯、婺州窯的影響，特征與三窯的產品相似。1957年，按照周恩來總理“要恢復龍泉瓷生產”的指示，浙江省由八位專家組成仿古小組，在第二年春天點燃了恢復龍泉瓷的第一爐窯。經過六十多年的恢復發展，龍泉青瓷步入了一個全新的繁榮期，不但藝術瓷在國內外打響了品牌，它的產品暢銷于亞洲、非洲、歐洲的許多國家和地區。

After more than 60 years of restoration and development, longquan celadon has entered a new prosperous period. Not only art porcelain has become a popular brand at home and abroad, but its products are sold well in many countries and regions in Asia, Africa and Europe.
整個藝術品市場，龍泉瓷器一直是拍賣場上的寵兒，尤其是宋龍泉瓷器，但宋朝的畢竟稀少，所以后期人民慢慢的把目光瞄準在1957年后周總理主持生產的中國龍泉瓷，龍泉瓷一直占據著藝術品收藏品類的版面，市場行情一路走熱，無論是交易額還是價格都一路攀升。有數據顯示，很早之前龍泉瓷器的價格標簽大概兩三年調整一次，而近兩三年，幾乎一年要調整兩到三次。另一組數據亦支持了這觀點，自06年以后，龍泉瓷器的價格漲幅至少在50%-200%之間，堆釉龍泉國花瓷瓶，漲幅更是接近一倍。并且，目前市場龍泉瓷器更是越加稀少。
